Mission
The mission of our outreach ministry at The Dwelling Place is to make the love of Christ real to those outside the church.
Approach
We strive to model our outreach ministry after the ministry of Jesus. We believe Jesus presented His own ministry as the pattern to follow. "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." (Matthew 4:19) As we strive to model our ministry after the ministry of Jesus, we believe that we will be able to do the things that Jesus did and that many of our experiences in ministry will be similar to His. "I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father." (John 14:12)
Preparation
We believe preparation is essential for mature, effective ministry to reach its full potential. Preparation involves at least 5 components:
1. Equipping
2. Training
3. Practice
4. Confidence
5. Availablility
We believe that equipping is a work done by the Holy Spirit, often through the laying on of hands of leaders. We offer group training in the various aspects of outreach ministry, followed by opportunities to practice and gain confidence. We then recommend activities that will allow for individual training and practice to continue to develop gifts and skills on your own time, as it fits into your schedule. Availability is up to you.
Participation
Walking in the Spirit meets each Sunday at the church for training followed by planned outreaches. We invite you to join us as we sharpen our skills at dream interpretation and reach out at the same time to many hungry, hurting people who are asking for help to understand the meanings of their dreams!
